Apex Legends Accused of Copying a Character from an Indie Game!

Respawn Entertainment and EA, the developer and publisher behind the popular battle royale game, Apex Legends, have been accused of plagiarizing characters from the indie shooter game BulletVille.

Apex Legends, which is likely to launch on Switch next month, introduces a new character, Fuse, as part of the eighth season of Apex Legends on February 2, 2021.

NOWWA, the team behind BulletVille, said they found characters that were "quite familiar" with their characters, from eye patches, biker suits, skull belts, mechanical sleeves, mustaches, grenade belts, gloves, necklaces, and vest jackets with circular symbol on the back, leg gloves, a red / gray color scheme, and a distinctive outline of gray hair.
More clearly, NOWWA shows that the Hunter in question is a character from BulletVille, which has been published for almost two years, there seems to be a lot of similarities from the design.

The allegations are getting hotter, because NOWWA explained that the BulletVille playing test had been held with EA in October and November 2020. This strengthens the potential of the "inspiration" theory carried out by Apex Legends.

Reported by the Nintendo Life page, NOWWA shared the following statement by attaching pictures of the two characters side by side.

“We're glad the Apex Legends team loves the Hunter style, to the point that we want to recreate it in Apex Legends - we even hope to do a crossover! However, we are worried that as a small indie game producer whose game has yet to be released, we will be called an Apex Legends copycat, which of course is not true. " Bright.

“Hunter relies on two weapons: a pistol and a rocket launcher. Guess what, what is Fuse's main ability? Rocket Launcher. " he added again.
