Rockstar Games states that GTA V and GTA Online will be present for this latest generation console. This indicates that maybe GTA 6 is still not ready. However, Rockstar Games chose silence to provide no clues at all.
Former Rockstar Games Producer Darion Lowenstein spoke up on TikTok's social media accounts. He tried to provide the most plausible reasons for the absence of GTA 6 on PS5. Darion stated that the difficulty of the manufacturing process was the main reason.
Darion considers that the manufacturing process that has to adjust to the latest hardware or gaming devices is a tough task for the developer team. They must make games by adjusting and maximizing the potential or technology of the hardware.
"From a developer's point of view, there are many good reasons behind it. I have made games for many new consoles before. It's very difficult when it comes to adapting to constantly evolving technology," said Darion, quoted by GameRant.
"It's very difficult to catch up on making AAA games at launch (new consoles). So obviously it takes more time," he added. Darion is no longer working on GTA 6 but he believes the game is not ready yet and the decision to release GTA V with new content on PS5 is the right thing.
"I suspect the GTA 6 game is not ready yet, and GTA 5 will be able to provide a decent income and experience the excitement of the GTA games that were already known when the PS5 was launched," explained Darion. So the absence of GTA 6 for PS5 is a sign that Rockstar Games wants to present a new and perfect game.
